Luis Eduardo Cortés, the Chairman of the IFEMA Executive Committee, has presented the Eco-Friendly Vehicle and Sustainable Mobility Show to members of the media. This event will be staged between 20th and 23rd May 2010.

Last October, Spanish factories produced 218,721 vehicles, which represent growth of 5.7% compared to the same month the previous year. This confirms the changing trend that has been recorded over the last few months, one that will be maintained, according to the Spanish Automobile and Truck Manufacturers Association (Anfac), throughout the year 2010.

The Spanish Department of Tourism, Trade and Industry will endow its year 2010 aid programme for the promotion of technological development projects in the automobile industry with some 250 million euros.

The Government has approved a research project known as Cenit Verde that features the participation of numerous Spanish companies, with a view to studying the development of energy supplies for electric cars.

The Spanish delegation at the Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, an event promoted by the United Nations Organisation (UNO) that recently took place in Moscow, explained the measures that have enabled Spain to radically improve its road death figures.
